CELEBRITY STYLE OF THE WEEK: Runtown

Douglas Jack Agu (born 19 August 1989), better known by his stage name Runtown, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer. He has a diverse musical style mix of hip-hop, R&B, reggae, and rap. After moving to Lagos from Enugu State with Phyno in 2007, he started doing underground collaborations with artists like J-Martins and Timaya. In 2008, he partnered with Phyno to form a record label called Penthauz during which he released his first two singles: “Party Like It’s 1980” and “Activity Pikin”. He collaborated with Davido on his song “Gallardo”, which brought him more attention. A few months later, he signed a multi-million Naira contract with Eric-Manny Entertainment owned by Prince Okwudili Umenyiora, the C.E.O of Dilly Motors. Runtown was born on 19 August 1989 in Enugu but grew up partly in Abuja and Lagos, where he finished his primary education. After the death of his father, he moved to Abuja with his mother who was working in the Ministry of Health. While growing up, he had the aim of being a professional basketball player. In 2005, he relocated to Enugu after his mother developed an interest in politics; he went on to finish his secondary school education in Enugu State. Runtown is currently studying Fashion Management at a fashion school in New York City. Runtown is another top-notch fashionista in the men’s fashion industry, his outlook and charisma speak a lot of his dress sense, and he has an attractive and confident personality. When someone can take different fashion pieces that do not begin to be one group but could adapt each of these individual pieces together to make a fantastic look.  A person who dresses well is born and such a person is Runtown. It’s an honor to discuss this topic today, so we would be talking about some personalities and features that was compiled from around us that we think are cool and we can all benefit from. Avoid being boring Being sincere to ourselves is one of the most difficult things to do, we should admit when we’re boring someone who has a short attention span. If the conversation is not flowing, we would recommend a tip that’s very vital, ask yourself this question, “Is the other person asking any questions about what you’re saying?”, if they’re not, it’s probably time to switch the subject or even ask them a question to keep things going because being sucks. Your appearance To portray yourself as the cool guy, your outward appearance is very crucial to the overall cool package. The way you carry yourself, what you say, what you wear, and your charisma has to be in total synergy. If you observe a cool guy, you would think they got ready within 5 minutes and it takes an average guy 20 minutes or more to look good. The simple tip is to stay away from loud colors and you’re good to go. Covert You should remain slightly covert; all you need is self-control. Have you stumbled upon those guys or girls that basically reveals anything and everything to you as if you guys were best friends since childhood, you should avoid doing that if you want to be perceived as a cool guy. Give people the opportunity to second-guess you and see what you’re all about. That actually makes cool people, cool. Carefree factor Majority of us takes life too serious if only you can be carefree and let “everything just brushes off your shoulder”, you’re one step closer to being a cooler individual. So if something amazing happens, they won’t get overly excited and all bubbly and if something bad happens they don’t become an emotional wreck. A cool person tries to remain level and indifferent in all situations. Charisma   We sometimes get caught in the middle of what to say or get frightened of not knowing what to say next, that mostly get us worried but the truth is we mostly forget the other part of charisma which is our mannerism. Your body language counts when you speak and the depth of passion you put into it goes a long way. It is no surprise that cool people can combine both really well and they’re able to keep a well meaningful and stable conversation going, they’ve got that charm to keep you locked down and get you interested throughout their conversation. 11 Men’s Style Mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes. And while I’m not a huge stickler for the rules of style, there are some things that should never be done. So here it is. Frequently requested and it’s high time we put to your notice “11 men’s style mistakes” you should avoid. Men’s Style Mistakes Suit Jacket/Blazer Too Big Quite possibly the most common mistake out there – wearing a suit jacket or blazer one or two sizes too big. What’s the most important thing to get right when choosing a suit jacket/blazer? How it fits your shoulders. While a tailor can fix things like sleeve length, how it fits your torso and even the length of the jacket, there’s not much that can be done if the shoulders don’t fit properly. How should the shoulders fit? They should be as wide as your natural shoulder width. The jacket sleeve should meet right where your arm meets your shoulder. The fabric from the seam should immediately drape straight down. A divot or bunching in the arm is a sign that the shoulder doesn’t fit properly. Crew Neck T-Shirt Under an Unbuttoned Button-Up One of my biggest style pet peeves. A dress shirt is meant to frame your face, whether it’s buttoned at the top or not. When it’s unbuttoned, a crew neck t-shirt completely disrupts that line and distracts the eye. The solution? Don’t wear a t-shirt underneath or wear a V-neck that doesn’t show. Also, never wear a colored t-shirt in this manner. It’s not a style statement, it’s a style tragedy. Leaving the Stitching in a Suit Jacket or Blazer’s Vents This is mostly a case of not knowing you had to. These are stitched closed to preserve the shape of the garment while in store or in transit. Remove the stitching from your suit jacket or blazer vents once you get it home. Same goes for the breast and side pockets. Also, please remove the brand tag from the sleeve. Dress Shirt Untucked with (Or Without) a Blazer The high-point of bro-couture. It’s the “I’m dressed up but too cool to be dressed up” look and just looks like a mess. Pick a side – casual or dressy – and stick with it. Don’t cross the streams. Trousers Too Long Get your trousers hemmed. One of the most inexpensive alterations known to man as well as one of the easiest ways to tell that a guy has put some thought and care into his appearance. The same goes for your jeans. Get them hemmed or roll them up. The frayed jeans dragging on the ground and underfoot was never cool. Not even in college. It just looks sloppy. Suit Jacket/Blazer Too Small With the explosion of menswear in the mainstream recently – especially the popularity of the slim suit – a lot more men are getting into this fit. Unfortunately, not everybody type was meant to wear a slim-fitting suit. Somebody types simply won’t look good in a slim suit. Dress your body type. Also, ‘slim-fitting’ should not be confused with ‘tight. Novelty/Ironic T-Shirts I get it. You’re smart, clever, and feel the need to telegraph that to the world via t-shirts with ironic statements. It’s not a statement a well-dressed man should make. Time to grow up. Poor-Quality Footwear Like paying attention to pant length and suit jacket/blazer sizing, a well-made pair of shoes is a sign that a guy really cares about his appearance. One thing to keep in mind is that well-made footwear is often a bit of an investment. But better to save for a quality pair than to waste money on a square-toed version. Matching Exactly Specifically, when it comes to a tie/pocket square combination. A tell-tale sign of a men’s style amateur is the matching solid color tie and pocket square. Remember, these accessories should be complementary to an outfit, not the focal point. Matching exactly draws undue attention. Wearing a Tie Bar with a Waistcoat Welcome to the Department of Redundancy Department. A tie bar is meant to hold your tie in place (be sure to check out “guide on how to wear a tie bar”). A waistcoat serves the same purpose. Though I’m not a style rule stickler, this is one I won’t budge on. Wearing Sunglasses Indoor This is one style mistake have seen countless of time and it bugs me to no end: wearing sunglasses indoors and at night. There’s a reason why the word ‘sun’ is attached to sunglasses. This has to stop if you’re ignorant of it before now.

Bloody Google Translate The Power Of Sport: Nelson Mandela You might think that after 28 years in prison, Nelson Mandela would have bigger fish to fry than encouraging the youth of South Africa to take up sport. Worldwide Access To Education: Malala Yousafzai After being shot in the head by the Taliban, standing up and addressing the UN must be a doddle, right? Yeah, right. But, if she was as terrified as we would be, 16-year-old Malala Yousafzai did not show it for a second as she recounted her story, and asked for better education for children throughout the world so that we might welcome a more enlightened future. The key, though, is to forgive and search for new ways to solve problems. In Malala’s words: “I do not even hate the Talib who shot me. Even if there is a gun in my hand and he stands in front of me, I would not shoot him… This is the philosophy of non-violence that I have learned from Gandhi Jee, Bacha Khan, and Mother Teresa. And this is the forgiveness that I have learned from my mother and father. This is what my soul is telling me, be peaceful and love everyone.” How To Live Before You Die: Steve Jobs In his 2005 speech at Stanford University, a very different type of genius tells three simple stories. The first is the story of his adoption, the second about getting fired from Apple – the company he started – and the third about death. Mai Atafo was born in Ile-Ife, Osun State. He spent his early life in Lagos, attended the University Staff School Benin then the Federal Government College, Ido-Ani, Ondo State. He later earned a master’s degree from the City University UK in Information System and Technology. Mai Atafo is a Nigerian bespoke fashion tailor. He caught the attention of the fashion industry for the creation of his brand, Mai Atafo and by enrolling in the Leeds-based Savile Row Academy to further train as a tailor. Before venturing into the fashion industry, Mai Atafo has worked in various positions in the marketing department at British American Tobacco Nigeria, in 2006 he left to Guinness Nigeria where he sat as Brand Manager as of his resignation in 2010. When he was about leaving Guinness Nigeria, Mai Atafo started a bespoke clothing label; Mai Atafo Inspired, that gained media acclamation by a pioneering clientele of mostly celebrities like Omowunmi Akinnifesi, Ebuka, Banky W, IK Osakioduwa and a host of others. He sat briefly as Fashion Editor for Genevieve Magazine. In 2011, Mai Atafo through his parent brand Mai Atafo Inspired, launched a wedding line called Weddings by Mai. Mai Atafo has contributed immensely to the fashion industry in Nigeria through his great works. He’s not only a fashion designer who dresses others but also, he’s really good at dressing himself and his appearance never falls short of good taste. Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, formerly known as Kiss Daniel, now “Kizz Daniel” (May 2018) was born in Ogun state, Nigeria. He hails from Abeokuta North local government area.
